Fest Volunteers Needed!

Northwest Kidney Centers (NKC) needs volunteers for the Kidney Health Fest for African American Families. The Fest will be held Saturday, June 22nd, 2013 at Van Asselt elementary school at the African American Academy building on Beacon Hill in Seattle.

Fest volunteer jobs include:

Set Up

Unload vehicles, carry boxes and set up equipment, tables and chairs atthe school on the night before the event (Friday, June 21st: 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM) or the morning of the Fest (Sat., June 22nd: 7:30 AM – 9:00 AM).

Registration

Welcome attendees as they enter and ask them to fill out a registration form (it will automatically enter them into the prize drawing). After they fill out the form, attendees will be given an event program.

Greeters

Greet the public as they enter the event; ask them to register; be a friendly, welcoming presence; and help direct attendees to activities and attractions. 

Kids Korner

Welcome children to this fun, interactive play area that includes a coloring space and face painting. Background check required for this volunteer job.

Lunch Assistants

Assist chefs in the cafeteria as they serve healthy lunch samples to a line of hundreds of hungry people. Help manage flow. Be a welcoming, friendly presence to the public.

Parking

Show drivers where to find open parking spaces in the lots on-site. If full, suggest on-street or other parking options.

Take Down

Pack supplies, carry boxes, load vehicles, and take down tables and chairs when the event ends (Sat., June 22nd: 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM).
