Kidney Donor Exchange

Once a donor is approved for the Living Donor Program, if they are not a match with the intended recipient, the donor and recipient can join The Living Donor Exchange Program.    It makes it feasible for the chosen recipient to receive a kidney

This represents a huge innovation in the healthcare industry.  It helps to ensure that more recipients are able to receive kidney transplants.  Since living donor kidneys last approximately 50% longer, OUI Works is committed to educating all communities about the Kidney Donor Exchange program.

The Donor Exchange Program is an extension of The Living Donor Program. Review the University of Washington Medical Center Kidney Donor Information for a detailed explanation.

The Living Donor Exchange Program is also known as the Paired Living Donor Exchange Program.
