YIPEEE, I HAVE KIDNEY! On December 8, I received a kidney transplant.  Thanks to all of you who have prayed for me and offered support.  Please continue to pray that my body continues to accept my new kidney.

Unfortunately, I am not accepting visitors because we want to give my body the best chance to accept the new kidney. I am on immune-suppression drugs. We are cautious about all kinds of exposure, including second-hand exposure (e.g. you are on a plane with a person that has a bug and the bug may still be live on your clothing or your pet's dander may be stuck on your clothing and it drops in my environment.) The doctors have asked that I not eat any foods that are prepared outside of my home for a while. (You know that is a challenge for no-cooking me.) So Cal is on the case and I'm being creative (yum Siggis's yogurt.)

Some people have run errands for Cal .(that man is a keeper. CKD and transplants are hard on the whole family.) For instance, if you are going to Costco and you are in the area, I need some basamati rice in the burlap bag with the zipper, and a cupholder for my bathroom Dixie cups. (My friend Anna bought some cute cups so that I don't get germs in my mouth when I am rinsing after brushing. However, I need a dispenser to sit on the counter to esure that the cups stay clean.) If you run an errand, Cal or Motherdear will greet you at the door.

Here is the link to my current Wish ListThree ways that you can help:    (1) Purchase and deliver/ship to the address above;    (2) make a donation online or mail to the above address and someone else can pick it up on your behalf; (3) call Cal first (206-617-0770) and confirm that funds are available to pay you when you deliver.     Thanks in advance, all three are helpful.     This is a living list.  Whenever you think about me and would like to bring me something or run an errand for us, please check out the list to see if there are new items/activities that strike your fancy.

I hope to be able to greet you myself within about 3 months. For those of you who want to help me now I have developed a practical list of things that I really, really need.

Again, thanks for all of your prayers and keep praying for me to achieve optimum healing. Yipeee, I HAVE A KIDNEY!!!!!!!
